about the grant

a brief description

funding:

• you will get full tuition coverage for your chosen master’s degree program.

• selected applicants will also receive a study salary to allow access to high-quality internet.

• this grant is available for three years of your part-time online studies.

eligibility criteria:

• first, you must be a citizen of an interested african country and plan to attend the university of edinburgh’s online master’s program.

• secondly, applicants from algeria, egypt, libya, morocco and tunisia are not eligible for this program.

• thirdly, we particularly welcome candidates from ethiopia, rwanda, zambia, zimbabwe, malawi and mauritius.

• in addition, applicants must be graduates or about to graduate as a mastercard researcher at a partner university of mastercard.

• you must meet the application criteria for admission to the university of edinburgh for the above-mentioned degree programme.

• applicants must demonstrate leadership and service to their community and university.

• finally, you must have generally achieved the equivalent of a second (senior) bachelor’s degree in the united kingdom (with honours).

how to apply:

interested applicants should be ready to start their studies to enter in september 2022. you must apply for the mastercard research programme at the university of edinburgh by the 15 march 2022 deadline.

in addition to financial support, you will have the opportunity to participate in activities as part of the wider scientists programme with the university of edinburgh, including regular online workshops with our researchers, online training and support, and the opportunity to attend scientists-led regional workshops and events.
