About the scholarship
The Marion Dunhoff Fellowship at the Michael Soko Foundation creates a unique
opportunity for post-graduate research on environmental issues focused on the post-Soviet
region. The fellowship will last for up to five months to study and work in Germany. For this
year, up to four (4) individuals will be selected for the fellowship. During their stay in
Germany, the fellows will work on a subject of their choice in accordance with the objectives
of the programme, under the supervision of the Suckow Foundation.
Journalist Marion Countess Donhoff has emerged for criticizing the dark side of capitalism
and the consequences of unlimited growth for nature and people. It is also known for its
advocacy of intra-country cooperation in the post-Soviet space and the promotion of youth.
This is why the Marion Dunhoff Foundation aims to fund the Suckow Fellowship Program.
The fellowship focuses on environmental journalism, political ecology and sustainable
development. It aims to support education and critical discussion in post-Soviet space
countries.
