about the grant

apply for australia awards for applicants from asia-pacific countries. the australia awards are long-term awards run by the australian department of foreign affairs and trade. the main objective of these awards is to contribute to the development needs of australia’s partner countries in line with bilateral and regional agreements. the awards are open to selected applicants from asia-pacific and the middle east who will have the opportunity to study and research activities at one of australia’s participating institutions, and offer opportunities for people from participating developing countries, particularly those in the indian and pacific regions, to study in the full-time bachelor’s or postgraduate program at participating australian universities, technical education and follow-up institutions. the knowledge needed to drive change and contribute to development in your home country. australia’s awards will be awarded for the minimum period needed for you. to complete your chosen academic program at an australian institution.

a brief description

funding:

• you will receive full tuition coverage for the program you have chosen in an australian institution.

• beneficiaries will receive a round trip – one-off, economy class ticket to and from australia, via the most direct route.

• you will be eligible for an allowance to go to contribute to accommodation expenses, textbooks and study materials.

• a two-week contribution to basic living expenses paid at a rate determined by management.

• YOU WILL HAVE ACCESS TO THE PRELIMINARY ACADEMIC PROGRAM (IAP), A MANDATORY PROGRAMME BEFORE YOU START FORMAL ACADEMIC STUDIES COVERING INFORMATION ABOUT LIVING AND STUDYING IN AUSTRALIA.

• BENEFICIARIES WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR STUDENT HEALTH COVERAGE (OSHC) DURING THEIR STAY AND FOR THE AWARD PERIOD.

• YOU WILL GET COVERAGE FOR YOUR PRE-COURSE ENGLISH FEE (PCE) IF IT IS DEEMED NECESSARY FOR YOU BEFORE YOU START THE PROGRAM.

eligibility criteria:

• applicants must be citizens and citizens of participating countries from the asia-pacific and middle east regions

• you must be able to meet all university admission requirements including english proficiency.

• applicants for a master’s degree must meet the following conditions:

1. 1. you must have a bachelor’s degree and have achieved above-average results with relevant work experience of at least 3 years

   2. applicants must not have a scholarship or a scholarship to study outside their country of origin in the 24 months prior to application

   3. YOU MUST HAVE RECEIVED IELTS OR TOEFL WITH A PASS RATE OF 6.5 PER CURRENT RANGE AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION

   4. applicants must not have a master’s degree at the time of application.

• applicants for a phd must meet the following conditions:

1. 1. 1. you must have a master’s degree and have achieved above-average results with at least 3 years of relevant work experience

      2. applicants must not have a scholarship or a scholarship to study outside their country of origin in the 24 months prior to application

      3. YOU MUST HAVE RECEIVED IELTS OR TOEFL WITH A PASS RATE OF 6.5 PER CURRENT RANGE AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION

      4. applicants must not have a phd at the time of application

documents required:

applicants must submit several documents to support their application

• first, a copy of the birth certificate.

• proof of nationality

• academic qualifications and work experience (no more than three pages)

• certified certificates and academic texts for all completed studies of form 6 including gpa, grading scale and illustration page

• reference letters/support from employers on their recommendation for the study program

• your latest cv details professional and other relevant experience where applicable (up to three pages).
