List of Swedish Scholarships for International Students 2023

A number of scholarships are funded and awarded by the Swedish government for students outside Europe.

Swedish Institute Scholarships for Global Professionals

The Swedish Institute for Global Professionals (SISGP) Scholarships are aimed at highly qualified students from selected countries and are awarded for full-time master’s level studies in Sweden. It covers tuition fees, living costs, insurance and travel costs.

Visby Scholarships

The Visby Program provides a number of full scholarships for master’s programs in Sweden to students from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine. The scholarship covers tuition fees, living expenses of SEK 9,000 per month, insurance and a one-time travel grant of SEK 5,000.

University scholarships in Sweden for international students

Blinking Institute of Technology Scholarship Program

The BTH Scholarship Program for prospective students is available to citizens of non-EU/EEA countries who are required to pay tuition fees for Swedish university education. This scholarship program offers scholarships that partially cover tuition fees (50%).

Exemptions from the University of Boras Tuition Fee

The University of Borås offers tuition fee waivers for highly qualified and required tuition fee-paying students who apply for eligible master’s programs at the university. The scholarships are intended to cover tuition fees of approximately 50%, and are not designed to cover the cost of living.

Chalmers IPOET Scholarships

The IPOET Scholarships are open to citizens of non-EU/EEA countries who are required to pay tuition fees and who are applying to master’s programs offered at Chalmers University. The scholarship is a 75% reduction in tuition fees.

Halmstad University Scholarships

Each year the University of Halmstad offers a number of scholarships to eligible students from outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland who have to pay tuition fees. These scholarships are for masters programs in any field of study offered at the university. The Halmstad University scholarship covers 25% or 50% of the tuition fee and will be deducted from the tuition fee.

Karlstad University Global Scholarship Program

The Karlstad University Global Scholarship Program aims to attract the best academic students from countries outside the EU/EEA (and Switzerland) who have to pay tuition fees for studies. Scholarships cover 25%, 50%, 75% or 100% of the tuition fee.

Karolinska Institutet Global Masters Scholarship

Karolinska Institutet offers a small number of tuition fee scholarships to outstanding students who have been accepted into one of our global master’s programs starting each fall semester. The scholarship only covers the cost of tuition fees, not living expenses, and only for master’s level studies.

Kristianstad University Scholarships

The scholarship will be awarded to nationals of a country outside the EU/EEA who have to pay tuition fees for studies at Kristianstad University. If awarded a scholarship, it will include a full or partial tuition fee reduction.

KTH Royal Institute of Technology Tuition Fee Waivers

A limited number of tuition fee waivers will be available to citizens of non-EU/EEA/EFTA countries who are required to pay tuition fees and who have applied for a master’s program at KTH. In the event of a scholarship award, the tuition fee will be waived for the total duration of the program.

Linnaeus University Scholarships

The Linnaeus University Scholarships are for students from outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland who have applied for a study program at Linnaeus University. Scholarships usually cover 75 percent of the tuition fee, but some scholarships from the Linnaeus Academy of Sciences and Business cover 100 percent of the tuition fee.

Linkoping International Scholarships

The LiU International Scholarship aims to support international students of great academic potential from countries outside the EU/EEA (and Switzerland) who have to pay tuition fees for studies. With LiU International Scholarships, tuition fees are reduced by 25%, 50% or 75%

Lund University Global Scholarship Program

The Lund University Global Scholarship Program targets top academic students who are nationals of countries outside the EU/EEA (and Switzerland) and are required to pay tuition fees. Scholarships are available for studies at the Bachelor’s or Master’s level. Scholarships may cover 25%, 50%, 75% or 100% of the tuition fee.

Mallardallen University Scholarships

Each year, the University of Mälardalen offers a limited number of scholarships to students from countries outside the EU/EEA/Switzerland who have to pay tuition fees and who apply for a master’s program at the university as their first choice. The scholarship will cover 100% of the program’s tuition fees as long as you follow the normal study plan. The scholarship does not cover living expenses.

Masters Scholarship at Malmö University

The Malmö University Masters Scholarship (MUMS) is for highly talented students who are nationals of a country outside the EU/EEA/Switzerland and are accepted into an English-taught master’s program at Malmö University. The scholarship covers tuition fees in full.

Mid Sweden University Tuition Fee Scholarships

All students who have applied to study a master’s program at Mid Sweden University and are required to pay tuition fees are welcome to apply for the Mid Sweden University Tuition Fee Scholarship. The scholarship covers 75% of the tuition fee.

Örebro University Scholarship Program

The Örebro University Scholarship Program is aimed at the best academic students from countries outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland, who are required to pay tuition fees for studies. The scholarship covers full or partial tuition fees but does not cover living expenses.

Stockholm University Scholarship Program

The Stockholm University Scholarship Scheme is aimed at particularly qualified students admitted to master’s programs coming from countries outside the EU/EEA/Switzerland who are required to pay tuition fees. The Stockholm University scholarships cover tuition fees only, which means that students will need to cover their own living costs.

Global Global Uppsala Scholarships

The Uppsala University Global Scholarships are aimed at citizens of a country outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland and are geared towards master’s programs offered at the university. These scholarships cover the cost of tuition but do not cover living expenses.
