Recommendation letter from supervisor:

Honjo International Scholarship Please have a letter of recommendation describing the applicant’s academic performance, assessment of personal characteristics, future potential etc. The student can also get a letter of recommendation from the previous supervisor in his/her country, if the recommended is more familiar with his/her academic background. The number of sheets and formats are not specified, but please attach a translation if it is written in languages other than English or Japanese.

Eligibility Criteria for the Honjo International Scholarship

To be eligible to apply for the Honjo International Scholarship 2023, you must meet the following criteria:
A non-Japanese student
The student must be enrolled as of April 2023 or currently applying for the academic course beginning in April 2023 at a graduate school in Japan. Those who have already been registered and those who are not yet registered (including people who are currently employed at the time of applying for the program) are eligible to apply for this scholarship if you will be enrolling in April 2023. The duration of registration until graduation must be longer than 12 months.

The student must have a strong will to serve in his home country as a future career plan.
The student must have a deep understanding of international friendship and goodwill, must attend events organized by the institution and participate in the network as a member of the alumni.
The student must be able to conduct daily conversation in Japanese. Interviews will be conducted in Japanese (without exceptions).
