about the grant

apply for a mastermind scholarship from hasselt university in belgium. each year, the flemish ministry of education and training offers many scholarships to international students eligible to study the master’s program in flanders and brussels, belgium. these grants are for selected outstanding students from eligible countries around the world.

as applicants selected for the mastermind scholarship, you will be eligible for a scholarship of about €8,200 plus tuition exemption. you will receive this scholarship for each two-year study year, covering the entire duration of your master’s degree program.

of the total number of scholarships provided by the flemish ministry, a number of scholarships are allocated to students from certain countries including japan (3), mexico (3), palestine (2) and the united states of america (5). students studying in the two-year master’s program must demonstrate sufficient academic performance in the first academic year in order to receive the scholarship for the second academic year

a brief description

funding:

if you are selected for the program, you will benefit from the following benefits

• master mind’s scholarship programme includes a grant of €8,200 per school year

• you will also receive an exemption from tuition fees in the school year for the duration of the certificate program.

• the grant will be paid in installments to cover housing, insurance and other living expenses

eligibility criteria:

in order to apply, you must fill out the following application terms in full.

• all nationalities are welcome to apply for the grant, however, the previous degree must have been obtained from a higher education institution located outside flanders.

• you must meet the admission requirements for your chosen master’s degree program at hasselt university.

• applicants must demonstrate excellent academic performance potential from their previous studies.

• ADEQUATE ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE MUST BE EQUAL TO AN AVERAGE GPA SCORE OF 3.5 OUT OF 4.0:

• you should have proof of sufficient english proficiency with the following grade results:

  • GENERAL MINIMUM 7.0 IN IELTS TEST

  • MINIMUM TOTAL SCORE OF 94 IN TOEFL TEST

  • C1 LEVEL OF THE JOINT EUROPEAN REFERENCE FRAMEWORK

  • or a similar result in another official language test (recognized by the host organization)

  • ONLINE LANGUAGE TESTS FROM IELTS AND TOEFL WILL ALSO BE ACCEPTED

how to apply:

O’Haselt will examine and select a total of 20 applicants, who will then be referred to the Flemish Government Select Committee, which makes the final selection on the basis of the shortlist submitted. You are therefore asked to submit your application to UHasselt for the first selection process. We recommend that you follow the following steps

1. Step 1: You must submit a duly completed application form that must include all mandatory support documents, the main program of your choice at UHasselt

2. step 2: applicants must then complete and submit the master mind application form by the march 15, 2022
   deadline during the application process, the following application support documents must be included.

    

   request two letters of recommendation from professors at the university, university or modern employer written in english.
   if you are applying for an mba or a master of transportation sciences, you must download your acceptance letter from hasselt university.
