about the grant
apply for the mohammed ibrahim foundation scholarship at the university of birmingham. this program offers a college job in international development with the mohammed ibrahim internship foundation at the university of birmingham. for the 2022 academic year, along with the mohammed ibrahim foundation, the university of birmingham is pleased to offer one scholarship for a postgraduate body in international development (governance and nation-building).
THE GRANT IS PROVIDED FOR TWO YEARS AND PROVIDES FUNDING FOR A FULL ONE-YEAR PROGRAMME FOR A FELLOWSHIP POSITION, AS WELL AS ONE-YEAR TRAINING AS AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE PROGRAMME. DURING THE TRAINING PERIOD, THE CANDIDATE WILL SPEND SIX MONTHS WORKING WITH IDD IN RESEARCH WITH ACADEMICS AND GSDRC, AND SIX MONTHS WITH MO IBRAHIM FOUNDATION IN LONDON.

funding:
the grant offers the following benefits

The program covers the full tuition fees of the MSc program.
-
you will get air price coverage to and from the uk.
-
the program will cover the costs of obtaining your visa.
-
you will receive a monthly salary of £950 to cover your daily expenses (18 months).
-
upon arrival in the uk, you will receive an allowance of £950.
-
the rest of the program (six months of training) will be funded directly by the mohamed ibrahim foundation for successful candidates.
eligibility criteria:
in order to be eligible, you must meet the following criteria
-
first, this grant is dedicated and open to applicants from african countries.
-
secondly, candidates must be their citizens and permanent residents of an african country.
-
preference will be given to candidates from sub-saharan africa.
-
in order to consider this, you must receive a first-class honors degree or its equivalent from an accredited university.
-
applicants must demonstrate sufficient competence in written and spoken english.
-
YOU WILL BE ASKED TO PROVIDE EVIDENCE THAT YOUR CAPABILITIES ARE REQUIRED EQUIVALENT TO 6.5 IN THE IELTS OR 580/93 TOEFL EXAM.

interested candidates must apply by the march 31, 2022 deadline. applications must be submitted through the university’s online application system
upon completion of your application, you will be asked to submit supporting documents including a 500-word statement and your latest cv. this statement should explain why you are the best scholarship candidate.
After submitting your application, you must then send your application ID number by mail to Debra Beard. You should include the Mohamed Ibrahim Grant as an e-mail topic.
