each year, the state department invites eligible students to apply for the brunei government’s dar es salaam scholarship program to study at various universities in brunei.
this grant gives international applicants a diploma, a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in postgraduate studies at participating institutions and universities in brunei dar es salaam.

Benefits
accepted applicants will receive the following benefits

scholarship recipients will be exempt from paying tuition fees, which may include admission, examination, registration and guidance fees, which may be valid for the duration of the program.

you will receive a economy class ticket to travel to brunei dar es salaam from your country, at the end of your study stay.

you will receive a economy class ticket from brunei dar es salaam to return to your country.

scholarship recipients will also receive a monthly personal allowance of $500 to cover their personal expenses.

grantees will receive housing at the university/polytechnic residential college where they will study.

you will be eligible for a luggage bag to transport your personalbelongings on the way home when the program is completed, and will be distributed accordingly: – a $250 allowance for a country within the asean region.a $500 allowance for a country outside the asean region.

applications are open to international applicants from outside brunei dar es salaam.

you must be a citizen of asia, the commonwealth and the oic, although they are not limited to them.

at the time of application, you must be between the ages of 18-25 if you are applying for a bachelor’s and diploma program.

applicants for master’s degree programs must not exceed the age of 35.

the grant is not eligible for permanent residents of brunei dar es salaam.

you must not have any scholarship, fellowship, grant or other loan without the knowledge of the state department.

1. you must then complete the application form in full, which must be approved by the state department or the national scholarship coordination center in your country.
2. in addition to the completed application form, you must also submit a security clearance statement from the nsa or police station. this statement must testify that you are clear of any civil and criminal charges.
