About the scholarship
All international students from around the world are eligible to apply for the Tongarewa Scholarship at Victoria University of Wellington. Students who wish to study in New Zealand for a master’s and doctoral degree are encouraged to apply.
A student with an excellent educational background who is in the first year of an undergraduate or postgraduate course can apply for the award. 10 NZD 10,000 Scholarships for Undergraduate and Masters Students and 9 NZD 5,000 Scholarships for Master’s Degree Only. 110 Ph.D. degrees are also awarded to students each year with a $27,500 annual stipend plus tuition fees. The scholarship is available to cover tuition fees once the candidate is registered at the university.

Funding:
The Victoria University of Wellington Scholarship 2023 for International Students will award NZ$10,000 to undergraduate and masters students. These are 10 prizes. 9 awards of NZ$5,000 will be awarded to Master’s degree candidates only. The duration of the grant is one year. 110 PhD student awards will be offered worth $27,500 annual stipend plus tuition fees.

Deadline:
The last date to apply for the Tongarewa Scholarship for Semester 1, 2022 is November 30, 2021. The deadline to apply for the Tongarewa Scholarship for Semester 2, 2022 is June 1, 2022. The deadline to apply for the Tongarewa Scholarship for Semester 3, 2022 is September 1, 2022 PhD students can apply until July 1, 2022.
